The Academy Approach
Courses are plotted by level and role. Each course builds on the previous one. Special performance-based training is offered for each of the automotive OEM’s warranty requirements.

Level 1

• Body Technician and New Painters
  Spies Hecker® product systems, problem-solving and the fundamentals of repairing plastics.
• Painter Apprentice
  Spies Hecker® product basics, paint basics, prepping and other core painting skills.
• Field Training Certification
  Training for membership qualification for the Spies Hecker® Lifetime Warranty.

Level 2

• Technician Certification
  Proper use of bases/clears, repairing raw and primed plastics, impact of spray gun set-up/booth set-up on paint performance, blending techniques, introduction to waterborne and more.
• OEM Certification Courses
  Technical certification for specific OEM warranty repair requirements.
• Jobber Technical and Sales Effectiveness
  Comprehensive overview of product systems, best practices for technical support, troubleshooting, blending and a handful of valuable tools, tips and props.

Level 3

• Color Tinting and Theory
  Color theory and movement, use of color tools, color adjustment.
• Advanced Re-Certification
  New technologies, three-stage repairs and other advanced repair techniques, advanced troubleshooting and solutions.

Level 4

• Advanced Re-Certification
  New technologies, three-stage repairs and other advanced repair techniques, advanced troubleshooting and solutions.
